Become a
Thriving Teacher.

Are there days that you dread going to work?

You’re not getting the joy, fulfilment and energy that you want from your job. You feel so drained by educator life that it’s leaving you no time and energy for your personal life. You know it doesn’t have to be like this but you’re struggling to make changes on your own.

Many of us became teachers because we thought it would give us the life we wanted and make us fulfilled while also being able to have a positive impact on future generations. But the truth is many of us get trapped in a position, routine or situation where we’re stressed out, overworked, undervalued, unfulfilled or unhappy.

BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE LIKE THAT

Instead, you can..

Have the work/life balance you’ve always talked about but not yet managed to achieve-  leave your work at school, spend quality time with your friends & family, give your energy to self- care, hobbies and travel.

Be confident in setting boundaries at work to protect your time, energy and workload

Get focused on your professional goals- move to a better school, get a better salary and package, go for the leadership position or leave teaching altogether!

Have the time and energy to spend with the people you love, doing the things you love

Finally hitting those life goals that you’ve dreamed about for so long

BEING HAPPIER, MORE FULFILLED AND THRIVING AS A TEACHER IS NOT  ONLY POSSIBLE…

OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING IT ALREADY

You know you need to make changes
but why hasn’t it happened so far?

I get it, at the start of a new school year we all say "This year will be different". Every time to try to start doing something new or different to protect your wellbeing at work you fall right back into old patterns.

Before you know it, another school year has passed and you’ve spent longer than you wanted at school every day, taken time away from friends, family and hobbies to catch up on school work, you’ve missed out on the promotion that you wanted, you feel stressed out, worn out and frustrated.

While you still hope next year will be different - You just continue to live your life on autopilot. You have so many BLOCKS to change right now

GettyImages-1136487954_edited.jpg

You’re too busy. You already have enough to do with planning lessons, teaching students and marking assessments. By the time you get home in the evening, you barely have the energy to take care of yourself or your family.  You’re exhausted as it is.

You don’t believe that thriving as a teacher is possible for you. You see other teachers living the dream and having a life that you are envious about but you don’t believe that it’s possible for you.

You don’t know what the right thing to do is. You haven’t successfully changed what you're doing because you don’t know what needs to change. You know that you’re not fully happy with where you are in life at the moment but you don’t know exactly what needs to change or what you need to do.

You think the only way to do your best for your students is to work long hours and be stressed out. You’ve been fed this false narrative that doing more and working harder means more success and more significant impact.  Deep down you know this isn’t true.

THESE BLOCKS WILL NO LONGER HOLD YOU BACK

I AM COMPLETELY COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING YOU AND BREAKING DOWN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE BARRIERS WITH YOU SO YOU CAN FINALLY START THRIVING IN WORK AND FLOURISHING IN LIFE

Why you can't waste another school year being stressed, unfulfilled and burnt out.

â€‹â€‹It is detrimental to your mental health and psychological wellbeing. Being unhappy in your life leads to severe stress, anxiety and even depression. Being unhappy and unfulfilled for extended periods can have serious long-term consequences for your mental health.

It’s bad for your physical health. The stress and mental turmoil of being unhappy and unfulfilled can also impact your physical health, leading to headaches, cardiovascular problems, digestive issues, and hormonal imbalances.

It affects your activity, productivity & performance. Being unhappy in your circumstances means that you have less energy to be effective and productive. This can negatively impact your personal life and professional life. You could even end up being disciplined or even fired from your job- which could be held against you when looking for a reference.

It’s not just about you. Being unhappy and unfulfilled in your life can also negatively impact the people around you. It can also affect your relationships with your partner, kids, and friends. It can stop you from forming new relationships or enjoying your hobbies and socialising.

It impacts your students too. Teacher wellbeing has a direct impact on student wellbeing, student academic performance and even their socio-emotional development.

YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED TO MAKE CHANGES SO THAT YOU CAN REACH YOUR FULL POTENTIAL. LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT AND START THRIVING.

YOUR LIFE DOES NOT GET BETTER BY CHANCE,

IT GETS BETTER BY CHANGE.

MEET ANNA..

A personal and professional development coach dedicated to helping

teachers to be at their best, reach their full potential and thrive at

work.

I have always wanted to grab every opportunity in life with both hands. This

attitude helped me to be a successful radio and club DJ, motivated me to

become an international teacher and inspires my life every day.

In my opinion, an unfulfilled life is the saddest existence. ‘You’re living the dream’ is something that is said to me so often, and honestly, I am living the dream. I have great relationships, live in a beautiful villa in Sri Lanka, spend my free time travelling the world and do work every day that I love. But this didn’t happen by accident- it took dedicated time and effort to learn effective strategies and practices to protect and nurture my wellbeing while thriving in work and flourishing in life.

I became an international teacher because I thought it was a dream job. You get to live in new countries, meet amazing like-minded people, and have the security of great pay while also having your expenses covered. This was great for a time but then I became burnt out.

  • Burnt out from the transient nature of ex-pat life, constantly trying to make new social connections because others had left.

  • Burnt out from the expectations of the school and the people I worked with. As a teacher and leader, so many people are relying on you. You take on extra duties and feel compelled to say ‘Yes’ to so much.  You’re often at the beck and call of your student and their parents.

  • Burnt out from the constant pressure I put on myself to try and do the absolute best for my students.

  • Burnt out from dealing with toxic leadership and negative working environments

  • Burnt out from the struggles of trying to navigate new places, policies and procedures because things were always changing.

  • Burnt out from the expectation that I must spend every holiday travelling and doing as much as I can because it somehow balanced out being so busy as a teacher?!

My burnout resulted in me leaving my $50,000 tax-free teaching job that included insurance, rent and free flights!

I realised that all the perks of international teaching were completely overshadowed because of my burnout. I hated that this was the case for me and I wanted to know how can you

                 protect your wellbeing?

                 be your happiest?

                 achieve your goals?

                 thrive in work?

                 and flourish in life?

I studied the psychology and science of wellbeing and happiness to answer those questions- and now I know.

I am dedicated to helping international teachers to be at their best. I know first-hand how challenging and rewarding international teaching can be. I want there to be a culture of positive wellbeing in every school. I want to see my teacher friends, my teacher husband and my son’s teachers all thriving at work and flourishing in life.

Without a doubt one of the best wellbeing professionals working right now. Anna's skills as a coach are inherent and she works incredibly hard. It means that what you get from her is high commitment and high quality. Working with her is transformative.

Anna was both friendly and professionally talented, a great mix. I enjoyed how we both agreed at the start what each other's understanding of roles were and subsequent goals. We agreed a plan upfront for each session and Anna provided a breakdown of key highlights afterwards, which helped document the progress I was making which gave me comfort.
